ERAWATCH

Information Platform on European, National and Regional Research Systems and Policies

ERAWATCH is the European Commission's information platform on European, national and regional research systems and policies. Its main objectives are to support policy-making in the research field in Europe and to contribute to the realisation of the European Research Area (ERA). The service currently covers 61 countries: 28 EU Member States, countries associated with the European Community's Research Framework Programme and, for comparative purposes, main trading partners of the EU. The site is organised as follows:

  • National profiles, including national and regional information
  • European perspective, comprising European level information
  • Reports, section, devoted to analysis on research policy issues, country overviews and trends.

ERAWATCH is targeted at all those involved in research policy-making in Europe. It is a long term initiative jointly carried out by the European Commission's Directorate-General for Research and the Joint Research Centre - Institute for Prospective Technological Studies (JRC-IPTS) based in Seville (Spain). The ERAWATCH online service has been developed in collaboration with CORDIS.
